Acura SLX Extended Warranty

When Acura needed a luxury sport utility vehicle to add to its automotive lineup, the Japanese luxury marque turned to Isuzu for help. In 1995, Acura created the SLX by rebadging the Isuzu Trooper, giving the tall, squared-off SUV additional luxury appointments and features, as well as softer exterior treatment. The four-door Acura SLX’s sole engine choice for the 1996 and 1997 model years was the 3.2-liter V6. In 1998, the SLX received a facelift and an upgrade to the 3.5-liter V6. Both engines were backed by an automatic transmission. The Acura SLX retained many of the off-roading features that made the Isuzu Trooper such a capable machine, while maintaining a luxury veneer throughout. Production of the SLX ended after the 1999 model year and the vehicle was replaced with the Acura MDX.

Vehicles such as the Acura SLX are well known for being relatively reliable and dependable vehicles. Despite this, the occasional automobile breakdown can still occur at some point during long-term ownership. These breakdowns are usually caused by unexpected failures of certain automotive components. These components can include the timing belt, alternator, radiator, water pump and belt pulleys. These parts can cost hundreds of dollars to have replaced by an experienced automotive service technician. If the engine or transmission requires replacement, doing so could cost you thousands of dollars in parts and labor. A new or used car warranty can take care of these repair costs on your behalf, but such coverage does not last forever. Most new car warranties only last for up to five years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

An extended warranty can help save SLX owners money on their major automotive repairs. For just a small monthly or yearly premium, SLX owners can avoid paying for auto repairs out of their own pockets while enjoying benefits such as free roadside assistance, free car rentals and emergency towing. Many plans offer zero deductible, while others offer the ability to select the repair facility of your choice. Extended warranties differ from ordinary factory warranties because there are not offered by the manufacturer. Instead, third-party companies offer these warranties at affordable prices.
